Houston Plating Again Selected by Products Finishing Magazine as a North American ‘Top Shop’
Houston Plating & Coatings (HP&C) has again been named one of the best finishing shops for plating in North America for 2020 by Products Finishing magazine. For the second year HP&C is the only plating company in the energy manufacturing states of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas to receive this recognition, based on an industry benchmarking survey conducted each year by Products Finishing, a national trade publication which has covered the finishing industry since 1938. HP&C was previously recognized as a ‘Top Shop’ in 2019 and in that survey was also honored as the ‘#1 Coating Company’ in North America, one of only four companies in the nation to be recognized for both its plating and coating operations.
This year’s Products Finishing Top Shops Benchmarking Survey was conducted in December 2019 and was the sixth in a series of annual industry surveys. More than 50 metrics were measured in the survey, which included shops from the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
The magazine conducted an extensive benchmarking survey that analyzed hundreds of finishing companies in several different areas, including Current Finishing Technology, Finishing Practices and Performances, Business Strategies and Performances, and Training and Human Resources.
Only the top 50 shops in the nation were given the honor of being a Products Finishing magazine ‘Top Shop’ for 2020 based on a scoring matrix in those four criteria. Top Shops from both the Electroplating & Anodizing and Liquid & Powder Coating surveys also will be recognized in front of their peers, OEMs and industry officials at a new industry awards ceremony in Indianapolis at the first Products Finishing Top Shops Executive Summit, which will be held October 20-22, 2020, at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis.
